Beach House
STATUS
COMPLETED
LOCATION
DUBLIN
The old house was originally constructed in 1864. It was a large two-storey stone building constructed by the British establishment at the time to patrol the harbour and the Rush coastline. The property was then attacked and subsequently burned out by the IRA during the war of Independence in 1921.
The client purchased the house in the last 10 years and extended the property as a family home with a redesign of the existing house and energy upgrade also.
The extended portion of the house features a completely open plan living space at first floor level to take full advantage of the views across the harbour with the lower level housing the bedrooms and family rooms for the children.
