Explorium

Explorium is Ireland's first state of the art interactive sport & science centre. The refurbished health and fitness centre of 10,000 sq.m. located on the foothills of the Dublin mountains was redesigned and rebuilt with the brief requiring 3 separate yet connectable spaces.

 

The building now contains 3 defined spaces: 1) Science Centre:  filled with over 300 interactive experiences, a theatre, gravity defying rooms / bicycles and an interactive media performance activity space. 2)  Junior Science Centre:  An educational interactive fun zone with more than 50 interactive experiences. 3) Sports science centre: filled with climbing walls, cave explorations, formula 1 simulators, robot goalkeepers and virtual reality rooms.

 

These three spaces are served by two reception spaces, a 550 sq.m. restaurant, a technology shop, meeting rooms, offices and cafes.  Most recently Explorium has hosted RTE’s Future Island.
